Everything is changing around is, isn’t it? But then, that’s the way the world always has been and however relentlessly Luddite you try to be, the world will drag you screaming and crying into a new age. Remember the days when our parents had annual vacations – many a times, they just say at home! And then came the 70s brigade with their planned holidays and FB posts. Now on their trail, there already is the next generation which is redefining the concept again!
There is a huge population out there that believes in a quick weekend break – the hardworking crowd that knows how to switch off and switch on. This is what we call an on-demand break where you drive close-by, chill and return back on the Monday morning and this is where The Out Factory comes to the rescue with a promise to deliver an unique, innovative and exciting pre-fab solutions for a happening weekend getaway by adding excitement and style to the outdoor experiences with a view to offer the experiences which are truly unique in every sense.
It all started with the co-founders of The Out Factory enjoying some warm beer at a farm with no house or a refrigerator. This led to a discussion about how expensive or economical pre-fab structures. It was then one of the co-founder left the farm and decided to do some research on YouTube where he first saw the concept of yurt and decided to build the same. Yurts are the current craze in Europe and US for glamping and for outdoor experiences.

They decided to dig deeper into this Mongolian concept and learnt that the yurt is circular because the shape helps the structure withstand the relentless and sweeping winds of the flat, treeless Eurasian steppes. They also saw that Mongolians could actually dismantle and put up these structures in hours.
When The Out Factory started to build the yurts, they started adding various features to it that made more sense in contemporary India. They gave it a concrete or wooden base, making it semi-permanent. They opted the imported Canadian SPF and hemlock, considering its strength, stability and outdoor qualities. They gave the structure 3 layers of fabric including a layer of thermal insulation. They made allowances for all creature comforts and luxuries (including refrigerator, of course!) and ended up creating a plush, luxurious experience eventually which according to them, was a path-breaking idea for the farm. The restaurant owners noticed the yurts and ended up investing in them. This is when the folks at The Out Factory realized that this is more of a business than the usual weekend experiment.
To The Out Factory, yurt was a great, green, instant alternative to traditional prefab homes, container and mobile homes but for the resorts, hotels and like, yurts were a great medium for adding to capacity instantly at a much lesser cost than traditional structures and other pre-fab ideas as it takes mere a week for The Out Factory to deliver the yurt and 48 hours to install the same. This certainly makes the ROI incredible for the hospitality business.

The Out Factory now handcrafts yurts in 4 different sizes viz. A 20 feet diameter yurt (314 sqft), a 24 (452 sqft), a 30 (706 sqft) and a gigantic 32 (804 sqft) which is why the demand for them is pretty high considering the fact that sky is the limit of how one can make use of these yurts.
The Out Factory is on a hunt for newer unique pre-fabricated living spaces for the outdoors. Their yurts are handmade and promise you a completely different experience as it takes you out of the polygonal box and helps you see life from a whole new perspective. Their vision is to flat-pack their structures so perfectly that their customers can actually erect their own spaces but at the moment, they have a crew named ‘The Out Fitters’ who do the complete installation for their customers.
