The wait is almost over for those who have been waiting to see cheetahs. From February, cheetah safaris will be available at Kuno National Park. The state government hopes this new addition will boost tourism in the state and benefit the tribal communities.

Kuno National Park is set to receive more cheetahs in the near future, which will be a great addition to the eight cheetahs already present, imported from Namibia last year. The park will also benefit from the recent agreement between India and South Africa to bring in more cheetahs annually for the next 8-10 years, which will be distributed to several national parks in the country.

While Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has confirmed the much-anticipated cheetah safari for February, an official date has not yet been announced. However, the state government is optimistic that the cheetah safari will boost tourism and support the local tribal community.

Kuno National Park, located in the Sheopur and Morena districts of Madhya Pradesh, is a wildlife sanctuary and national park established in 1981 and declared a national park in 2018. Most of the residents in the area are from the Saharia tribal community.
