Hunting for good Indian restaurants abroad can be a tedious task
especially when you’re traveling for a few weeks’ time. You definitely wanna
try the country’s traditional/local food but that cannot satisfy your taste buds
the way Indian food does, so we wanted to try Indian food with some Bangkok
tinge which ends up making you crave more for our classic flavors of Butter
Chicken, Kebabs and Saag Paneer and let yourself lose in every bite of it!

to Bangkok and looking for the best Indian restaurant, Bawarchi Indian
Restaurant in Chidlom is here to spoil you to bits with their Indian-y menu
ranging from soups to starters to main course, dessert and not to forget the
rich MASALA CHAI/TEA, which will take you back to the lush green tea
plantations in India.
Upon entering we were
welcomed by the friendly staff with folded hands, mouth-watering aroma of
saffron-infused kheer and a romantic piece of ghazal.

- SAMUNDARI SHORBA
The only dish
we chose seeing its name of it *winks* It takes you to the ocean, like
literally as the consistency and flavor it has got is terrific. It is the
perfect winter comfort Shorba to try if you want to try something new. Fennel
seeds infused prawn and snapper broth with masala crisps makes this dish the
unique version of the classic seafood stew.
- BAWARCHI MURGH MALAI KEBAB
of spices in your mouth? This one’s for you! Tender, juicy and melt in mouth
taste that leaves your taste buds a creamy and cheesy punch all at once.
- SAAG PANEER
authentic flavors with cottage cheese cubes simmered in smooth spinach and fenugreek
sauce. Must say it is a complete treat for all you veggies out there!
- GOBI MASALA
about Bawarchi Indian restaurant is the fact that they serve the entire
Cauliflower/Gobi on the plate.
- BUTTER CHICKEN
dish adored by many irrespective of any race, caste, religion, creed or gender
and the chefs at Bawarchi give justice to its name. It was a never-ending
affair for us packed with creamy, buttery goodness laced with tender chicken
pieces!
- TANDOORI CHAAP
two minds whether to order lamb considering our previous
execrable experiences at various restaurants we have tried it but thank god it
wasn’t the case at Bawarchi Chidlom and we were extremely delighted with the
Tandoori Chaap they served us. The spring lamb chops were perfectly cooked and
the succulent taste of fenugreek and mustard oil infused yogurt was strong
enough to be felt in every bite, which was complimented to perfection with a
smoky essence straight from the Tandoor!
concerned, we loved both the drinks! It’s hard to choose the best one like it
is as if someone is asking you who you love the most between your pops and mom!
- BANARASI
paan or betel leaves instead of mint, how’s that for a twist?
to try on with a cherry on top! *see for yourself in the picture*
- COCONUT LASSI:
included in the menu but you can make a special request for it. We never
imagined a coconut lassi would taste this classy and refreshing. Quite heavenly
to tantalize your taste buds to the next level.
- MURGH BIRYANI
The best of the lot!
We savored each and every bite of it. It’s an answer to your Indian-y search
abroad. Indescribable in taste and surely the MVP of the Bawarchi Indian
Restaurant in Chidlom. We could not help but indulge ourselves in luscious
chunks of perfectly spiced chicken along with piping hot butter garlic naan and
boondi raita.
papad cone added extra crunch to the entire meal, having a splash of fresh
onions, tomatoes, and cucumber seasoned with some magical spices.
- OUR RATINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS:

to the core but we would recommend Indian/Ethnic dress code to the staff as it
will complete the Indian feel that they have managed to create with their decor
and overall setting.
